Honoka’a Elementary School
Welcome to Honoka’a Elementary School! Our school is nestled along the scenic Hamakua Coast in a beautiful rural setting. Honoka’a is a former sugar plantation town that retains the charm of Old Hawaii. We have students from kindergarten through sixth grade. Our student enrollment is approximately 375 students. We are excited about what is happening at our school and about the high-quality public school education we provide our students.
There is NO parking in the Staff Parking lot for drop off and pick up of students. This is a staff only parking lot and is not safe for children. Please do not pull in this parking lot in the morning or afternoon hours to drop off or pick up your students.
Student drop off is in front of the cafeteria or at the elementary bus ramp for all students if arriving before 7:30. Please be aware that supervision on campus does not begin until 7:30. Breakfast supervision in the cafeteria begins at 7:15. If you would like to park and walk your child in to campus please utilize the Honoka’a Sports Complex Parking lot, or curbside parking on Mamane Street below the school.
(kindergarten only): If dropping off after 7:30 - you may use the upper turn around drop off lot near I building- but there is no parking in the turnaround.
(Preschool only): Parents may use the upper turn around for drop off from 8am – 8:15am once regular school traffic has subsided.
We will be asking Hawaii Police Department to be onsite to help us with traffic and safety in the mornings until everyone is used to the morning procedures. As always, our goal is to keep our Honoka’a Keiki safe! Mahalo for helping us with following the traffic procedures at school.
CLASS LISTS for the 2014-15 School Year have been posted

We provide students with a nurturing environment that enables them to develop the attitudes, knowledge and skills necessary to be productive citizens.
